Brandon Perry is a New York based male model. He hasnt been modeling for long but since he started modeling he has worked with some of New York's best photographers. You might even recognize him from Shermaine Jeremy's music video for her hit single "I came to show you" or maybe you've seen him modeling on the Wendy Williams show. Expect to see lots more of Brandon Perry. I could so envisage him in GQ or Krave magazine. The shocking thing is that Brandon isnt signed to an agency yet. ( note to agents snap him up quickly , while you still have a chance)
1.Tell us a little about yourself – (where you grew up, your life now – anything you wish to tell)
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. I grew up poor but my family didn't let me feel like it at all. I have such a supporting cast of people around me and for that I'm really thankful. Even now I feel like I have a safety net of supporters around me. I guess that just comes with choosing whom you want in your inner circle
2. How did you get involved in modeling?
My cousin Danielle pushed and pushed AND pushed me to model. I was so hesitant because I never thought I could exude that confidence it takes to really work the camera. One day she got me to come up to New York and do a shoot with her as the photographer. I took one look at those pictures and knew this is where I needed to be.
3. What do you think is the biggest misconception about male models? do you live up to that misconception?
I think the biggest misconception about male models, and models in general, is that we're nothing but flakes. Its unfortunate that there are models out there that ruin the reputation for the whole lot of us, but I'm far from flakey. I work really hard and do my best to show up on time, put my all in, and follow up with every photographer I've ever shot with. It makes a difference when you see the end result!
4.What is your ultimate goal as a model?
To come out of the game knowing I ascended to the highest possible point I could climb. Be it national ads, international runway, I just want to know I made the biggest impact that I could. If I can help aspiring models along the way of course I'd do that as well.
5. You have worked with some great photographers ( Tarrice Love, Thomas Synnamon etc.)Tell us about your favourite photo shoots you have done so far?
Well I think my 2 favorites were the 2 you've just mentioned…as well as the first shoot with my cousin of course. Tarrice brings out the absolute best in you! His insight and creativeness just takes over both sides of the camera. He's a one man show and what a show! We had a lot of fun working together and I'm always willing to shoot with him. Thomas is amazing as well. He actually made it comfortable to be out in a swimsuit right in the middle of New York. It was crazy hot that day but the quality of his work just shines through no matter the climate or conditions. He is very innovative and had endless ideas and insight. The Whimsy Photography (my cousin) shoot was great because she brought things out of me I didn't know was there. It was relaxed and very comical at times but she does great work and we captured a lot of great images.
6. You were in Shermaine Jeremy's Music video. what was that like?
The music video was a lot of fun. I was featured in the club scene, where everyone was dancing to her song as she came out with her dancers. Its a really hot song so everyone was into it! I had a great time.
7. What is the Craziest Thing You have ever done?
Probably my last shoot, shooting with speedos in the middle of the Meat Packing District, NY…lots of comments, admirers, disgruntled blue collared workers, it was a crazy experience but a lot of fun!
8.If you had a choice, what magazine would you be on the cover of?
Most definitely GQ. It just epitomises mens style and to grace the cover of that? Wow…
9. Describe your personal style?
Id like to say I try to be trendy without directly following the hot fad of the moment. I enjoy clothes that compliment my figure..not too tight of course, but not baggy at all. I don't like my pants hanging or my shirt 4 sizes too big..just doesn't look right.
10. The question that the ladies would like to know….are you single?
Unfortunately the ladies aren't gonna like this one too much..no I'm in a relationship with an amazing woman right now…sorry! ha ha
11. If i were to turn on your MP3 player. What song would play?
Soho – Hot Music…there's just something about that song that puts me in a great mood..a mood to dance. Its a classic!
