When you think of recycling, you may not immediately think of glamorous designer fashion, but with the launch of Buy My Wardrobe Events this is set to change.

Buy My Wardrobe is a new initiative which sees a number of carefully selected uber-fashionistas gathering for one day events to sell the contents of their fabulous designer wardrobes to discerning members of the public. With indulgent treats and pampering also on offer Buy My Wardrobe aims to put glamour into recycling. The launch event took place in Feb 2007 followed by a second event in May 2008.

The line up of fashionistas selling their wardrobes included former publishing director of Elle Magazine Elaine Foran, Gucci Group Executive Mimma Viglezio and TV Presenter/writer Giselle Morley.

This week Naomi Campbell unveiled her new collection at Brazilian label '284'.  The high end capsule collection  is based on pieces from Naomi's personal wardrobe. On the 25th  Naomi flew into Sao Paolo to promote the line. Naomi adds to a long list of celebrities, designers and models that have brought out collaborative lines. Peaches Geldof , Kate Moss, Comme des Garcons  and Alexander McQueen  have all done collaborations with High street stores.

Capsule collections are a big Trend at the moment.Roberto Cavalli and  Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons were unveiled  by H&M and Kate Moss and Peaches Geldof  have both designed collections for Topshop and PPQ respectively. Well from March 1st 2009 you can add  Alexander Mcqueen to that list as he will be desinging a collection available only at Target.

Jourdan Dunn won the title  of 'Model of the Year' at the British Fashion Awards. She was chosen over Agyness Deyn and Lily Donaldson. Most people had Agyness tipped to win but Jourdan took home the award.

British ubermodel, Jourdan Dunn has August in the Vogue Paris 2009 Calendar. The calendar was shot by Terry Richardson and is available in the current issue of Vogue Paris. The models are styled to look like 50's style pin-ups. Jourdan Dunn is a sexy nurse  while other models are styled as kittens, cheerleaders and french maids.

Some of the models in the calendar include – Alana Kuznetsova, Ali Michael, Aline Weber, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, Anna Selezneva, Arlenis Sosa Pena, Eniko Mihalik, Erin Heatherton, Georgina Stojiljkovic, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Jourdan Dunn, Lakshmi Menon and Taryn Davidson.

The lingerie and shoes were designed  by Louis Vuitton and the shoot was styled by Vogue Paris Editor, Carine Roitfeld.

Kanye West popularised  the  Shutter Shades in his music video for ‘Stronger’. After that everyone was wearing shutter shades. Last weekend  NYmag spotted Beyonce wearing a pair of carwash shades in the new  music video for her single “Diva”.  I wonder if Sasha Fierce/ Beyonce will have the same effect as Kanye and  rocket Car wash shades into the fashion mainstream . Only the  future will tell if these sunglasses will become the new  popular  fashion accessory.

British Supermodel, Naomi Campbell  is on the cover of the December issue of Vogue Russia. The cover was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Its a great shot, It looks very vintage and sophisticated. Vogue Russia has really risen in prominence recently. Apparently the fashion industry in Moscow is booming. Its commonplace to see wealthy ladies wearing the latest trends and most expensive brands.

The editorial inside the mag features a super stylish Naomi dressed as catwoman.

Lily Allen is the cover girl for Nylon’s December 2008/ January 2009 issue. I’m not a big fan of Lily Allen, she is always in the news for something or the other. I just get tired  of her ”fighting knife crime”, mouthing off about  other celebrities or stottering around drunk. In short, I just think she is a celebrity that is overexposed.

With respect to the cover I actually think Lily looks great (I just find her a bit annoying).  Now is it just me or does Lily Allen look just like Katy Perry in this picture.   Here are some shots of Lily from inside the issue.

Kate Moss truly is a supermodel. Kate Moss’ cover for the December issue of British Vogue has been floating around online for a while now.  Well now she has truly cemented her supermodel status by also being on the new issue of Vogue China . Two Vogue  covers in 1 month. I dont think any other model has ever had two Vogue covers in one month.

Youtube user, rodrigofenty  has uploaded  a new commercial  with Rihanna promoting Gucci ‘s Tattoo Heart Collection. As reported earlier the grammy award winning  popstar and the fashion house are colaborating together to help raise funds for Unicef. Gucci is donating 25% from all of the bags sold to  Unicef’s fund for Orphans affected by Hiv/Aids in Africa.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley, is the only British Model in the Victoria Secret Runway Show. She takes over from Naomi who last did the show in 2006.

 Last night in Miami, Florida the Victoria's Secret show was filmed. The show was dominated by the Brazilian models  with 7 of the 35 models hailing from Brazil. Only one British girl was in the line-up for this year's  show.  That  girl was Rosie Huntington Whiteley. For the second year running she was cast for the Victoria's Secret  show. Not many British models get picked  for this show, probably because VS usually looks for girls who can exude sexiness instead of a super high fashion look . Former British Victoria's Secret alumni include Karen Elson and Naomi Campbell.

Agyness Deyn's Male Clone , Luke Worrall is the new face of Vivienne Westwood Accessories.  As expected from Vivienne, the ads are quirky and eclectic. Luke Worrall is currently  the 3rd highest ranked British Male model according to Models.com, so it isnt surprising that he booked this job.

On a related note NYmag is reporting that Vivienne Westwood has her eye on Pamela Anderson for her  Spring/Summer 2009 ad campaign.

The Aussie’s have Aussiebum, the  Americans have Andrew Christian and the Canadians have Ginch Gonch.  Well now us Brit’s have a cool, trendy men’s underwear line, in the form of  B*Boy Underwear. B*Boy Underwear launched their Graffiti and Contrast lines last month  at London’s, Shadow Lounge. Creator of the line, William Baker  had a very star studded event. Special guest included his best friend, Kylie Minogue and Brian Friedman of the  X-Factor. Below are some pictures from the event.

I was super excited when I checked my inbox and saw a new email from  New York fashion photographer, Jonathan Leder. I am a huge fan of his work and it is not everyday that you get new photos from Jonathan Leder!!

A few months back Jonathan sent me some great Polaroids of some of the industries top models that he has shot.
