1. Tell us a little about yourself – (where you grew up, your life now – anything you wish to tell)
I was born & raised in the UK. But I have a mixed blood line, and family all over the world. Kind of convenient for me really, I usually do at least 3 trips a year to see my family, so on top of fashion seasons I usual get to visit Italy and the middle east.
2. How did you get involved in modelling?
I was first scouted a few years back now. I was in the middle of my degree in London, and really didn't have the time to consider anything other than my work and my sport. But once university was done, I could really concentrate harder on my career in media. So I started out by joining a small agency, my first job was at London fashion week, and since then I've looked to grow and work harder and harder every day. Im just so lucky to be in an industry I love.
3. What do you think is the biggest misconception about male models? do you live up to that misconception?
Well I have a story that sums this up. I was recently out at dinner for with a group of friends, there was about 30 of us so we sat on lots of small tables. I was at a table with my girlfriend, another friend I hadn't see in years, and a man I had never met before. This gentleman clearly wanted everyone to think he was extremely well educated, incredibly intelligent, and was really trying to play the alpha male at the table. At some stages advice was being offered to me in life, and my progression at work. When he found out I was a model, although possibly threatened by what a model essentially must be "good looking", he felt it made him above me, assuming I was uneducated and dumb. To put an end to this story, like a lot of models I meet, im not stupid, I've worked in various careers before, I am educated, and I have great ambitions. Just for the record, this man was a complete fraud as well…I still laugh about that night with friends. I guess the only other misconception of male models is that we get around. I can't speak for others, sure I've had my fun before, not different to anyone else in any career in this world. But at the moment I'm truly happy in a relationship.
4.What is your ultimate goal as a model?
Although I have many other aspirations, this is my career, and one im driven to succeed in to the highest level. I have a list of designers that I want to work with, and the same goes for photographers and prints. But one of my main ambitions is to help others succeed who have pushed me. There is a photographer that I owe a lot too, who placed his faith in me, im very loyal, so would like to help him achieve all his goals. Although i'm sure he will easily do this without me, and before me. But I never forget those who have been there for me.
5. You have done quite a few covers and you are in the current issue of I-d Magazine. Have you ever been recognized by anyone?
Yeah recognition is something I've tried to get used to, although I don't think I ever will be. I got recognised walking down Regents Street in London after I did the world most expensive suit, and the guy came and chatted to me which was cool. Most the time people might just nod, or talk to the person next to them. The only time I've been mobbed was after a signing of my refresh cover in NYC. But most the time it's pretty quiet, I keep myself to myself, and im not big on the party scene.
6. Your look is really exotic. What is your ethnic background?
Im a 4 way split, English, Scottish, Italian & Lebanese.
7. What is the "Craziest Thing" You have ever done?
I have no idea to be honest. In my university days I was pretty wild. I'd like to think I've calmed down a bit since then…although I find NYC seems to bring out my wild side.
8. Describe your personal style?
Brit Boy vs Italian suave
9. Kate or Naomi?
Kate all day long.
10. If i were to turn on your MP3 player. What song would play?
Last 3 artists and most played are "Crookers", "Kings of Leon" & "Bloc Party"
