I didn't think that after going to the clothes show I would see a high fashion collection that i really liked. Menswear isnt a fave of mine but when I do like a menswear collection I go head over heels for it. At the clothes how I found two menswear labels that i think are "out of this world amazing!!" I really liked the label "the Two Christians" by Rohan Kale and I liked Dmitri Stavrou's line. Both collections were of the utmost highest quality. Then again, that shouldn't be surprising given that both were part of the London College of Fashion MA graduate show. Today I'll talk about Cyprus-born designer Dimitri Stavrou.
"For his collection, for London College of Fashion MA 2009 show, he was inspired by the mythological term ‘Daemon’, a word describing the ill doings of mankind and warriors. Dimitri used this inspiration to create a visually striking and well-tailored collection combining new generation fabrics such as Carbon Fibre alongside deconstructed fabrics." – Lara Pixie
I don't usually find menswear exciting because many designers play it safe and usually stick to classic blacks, browns and blues. Dimitri goes completely outside of the box and uses unconventional colours and shiny, shimmering fabrics. I particularly love his use of fringing.
