Ed Westwick finally covers ARENA HOMME

30 September 2009 No Comments

I've been saying it for ages, Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) should be on the cover of Magazines. His co -star, Chase Crawford has already covered V Man and I've always wondered why Ed Westwick wasn't getting the same attention from  magazine editors. Well now  Ed is on the cover of Arena Homme's Winter/Spring 09/10  edition. Way to go Ed and kudos  to Arena Homme for putting  Chuck Bass in the spotlight.

Becuase she's worth it too Loreal Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole was announced as the new face of L'Oreal back in August but now the first of the print ads for her campaign has  been revealed.

You can't say anything wrong about a girl with great hair and dimples. She looks absolutely radiant. Although,  I love the pictures and cant wait to hear Cheryl talking in her Geordie accent in the Tv ads.

William Baker Presents : Westfield London Style

26 September 2009 3 Comments

Black Skull Boots - McQueen at Larizia Ariana YSL bag

(Arent those the fiercest boots you have ever seen)

This week we visited the "William Baker  presents: Westfield London Style 2009". It was basically a fashion show styled  by personal stylists to the stars and BBoy underwear creator, William Baker. He presented 60 looks for Autumn Winter 2009/2010. The show featured the hottest pair of peep-toe booties I have ever seen (Alexander Mcqueen) and they  were hot (pictured above). The show featured lots of sequins, chunky knits and lace. All of which are very on trend this season.

One interesting  aspect of William Baker's styling was  his choices of underwear as outerwear. In womenswear this trend has been going on for a while however, in menswear I have never noticed it.  WIlliam Baker teamed jackets with  long johns and translated the  trend to menswear. Another trend that WIlliam Baker  borrowed from womens wear was sequins. I like  the Sequin hoodies from Joseph's.

WIlliam Baker said, "Sequins are in this season, even a hint of a sequin on a scarf or belt makes an outfit modern, and on trend. But for me… I love sequins more and more. Wear sequins with sequins and add a statement necklace too". Baker also went for a very 80's  vibe with the styling and I love how he mixed high street clothes with high end designers.

PS. William we love sequins too. the more the merrier!!!! (Click here to see just how much sequins we love)

Sequin jumper sanro

Black Jacket by Tommy Hilfiger, Shoes  and shirt by Zara. ( Im not sure where the leggings are from but I love the Top half  of this image. The white under shirt is giving me shades of Karl Lagerfeld)

Waist-coat and trousers by Armani Exchange, shirt by Next. (Classy)

Purple hooded bodysuit river island

Union Jack  bag by Aspinal of London, Patent boots by Fornarina, Purple hooded body suit  by River Island. ( this look gives me vibes of Lady Gaga and  Grace Jones)

Bboy underwear

Sequined hoodie by Joseph. Pants by Bboy ( First  reaction: "WHAT THE HELL!! second reaction: I never thought I'd be a fan of sequins in menswear  but Im loving  the sequined hoodie and as you know I'm a fan of Bboy underwear. However  before  going outside I'd recommend putting on some trousers, it gets pretty cold in London )

Cheryl Cole – Fight for this Love video

Cheryl Cole Fight for this love 5

I just saw Cheryl Cole's new video  and don't laugh at me  but I really like it. I didn't think I would but I really do. She's looking gorgeous  as usual. I'm not really digging the look at the beginning of the video (thep ants look like pajamas) but the  rest of the video is stellar. Especially , the part where Cheryl is styled like a sexy Beefeater (British Guard), complete with a military hat, red Balmain jacket and LNA Noir leggings. Actually, there is  quite a bit of Balmain in the video as Cheryl Cole also wears a Balmain dress in "Fight for the Love".

I was kind of surprised that Cheryl didn't go the route of  Beyonce and Lady Gaga  who both act like they are  opposed to wearing pants in their music videos.

Jeremy Scott channels the Flinstones for SS10

24 September 2009 No Comments

Jeremy Scott  may hail from Kansas City but for  his SS10 show in London he returned to Bedrock. The collection payed homage to the iconic  60′s cartoon family, the Flinstones. The collection is  surely  creative and buzz-worthy but some items such as the menswear  were low in wearability and I  really cant see any guys  wearing a polkadot loincloth or a mankini.  The womens  line  had a higher wearability factor. It included sexy swimsuits, togas and tunics. The denim pieces and the bone print jumpsuits were the highlight of the show.

The show featured celeb models Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe and Liberty Ross as well as Dominique Hollingsworth, Cole Mohr, Chanel Iman, Ash Stymest and Lekeline Stange.

Chanel Coco Cocoon – Daul Kim

Chanel Coco Cocoon has just launched a new site to mark the release of the Chanel Coco Cocoon collection. Last month the images featuring Lily Allen for Chanel Coco Cocooon were released. The new ads star Karl Lagerfeld’s muse Daul Kim. Daul is sporting a new blonde look. Surprisingly, Karl’s other muse Baptiste Giabiconi is nowhere to be seen in the campaign. For some reason i keep expecting Baptiste to jump out of one of the oversized bowling bags .

The ‘Coco Cocoon’ bags are made of nylon or lambskin, and have a quilted finish. The bags come in several different sizes and models and the result is a modern bag with two sides to its personality. In other words it is just as perfect in an urban environment as it is for heading off to explore new horizons. With the lightweight shopping bag, in mini or maxi version, the bowling bag and even a trolley bag model, there is a ‘Coco Cocoon’ bag for every occasion and all different lifestyles: whether in town, for active women who are constantly on the go and need a spacious bag, or when travelling, for unbeatable comfort and style.

Charlie Le Mindu SS10

London is just getting to terms with Charlie Le Mindu’s eclectic Autumn Winter 09 collection ( remember the dead rat face mask) and already  he has unleashed his next  collection. Once again , its not for the timid its for the  fierce fashionistas who want to make  statement in a  “Lady Gaga” sort of way.  I won’t be surprised to see her sporting some of these creations  next year. Actually , I am almost certain that Lady Gaga will be wearing these wigs .

Last night marked the return to London Fashion Week, of one of the most quintessential British brands, Burberry Prorsum. Christopher Bailey returned the show to London to celebrate 25 years of Fashion week. One interesting detail about the Burberry Prorsum women’s collection was the draping and ruching. This detail was present throughout the collection and was executed perfectly.

After the jump is the second half of the Burberry Prorsum show from Lond Fashion Week ss10.

Antonio Berardi Spring Summer 2010

23 September 2009 No Comments

I thought I'd post one of my favorite designers, who I think is severely under-rated, Antonio Berardi. I Love the feminine lines of the clothes. As usual with Antonio Berardi collections, the clothes have a sexy vibe and are built around enhancing the natural curves of a woman's body. His spring summer 2010 collection included paneled dresses, corset dresses, vest-dresses. The color pallette ranged from nude tones to orange, blue and black.

Commonwealth Utilities Spring Summer 2010

21 September 2009 1 Comment

I know New York fashion Week is over but I thought I'd share these images from CommonWealth Utilities. The show featured some of the biggest male models in the industry and he clothes were amazing. Like a fusion between casual wear and formal. The color  palette included  pastelle the usual menswear staple colours (brown, grey, black and white). The show featured  Major models, Patrick Rukai, Thierry Pepin, Ryan Konig, Kerry Degman and Chad White.

Emma Watson collaborates with People Tree to create a clothing line

20 September 2009 1 Comment

Emma-watson-people-tree-collection

"I’m really not interested in [designing a clothing line] for my own ego. I’m not a designer. If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I’d consider it, but not just [to be able to say] ‘Look at me! I’ve got my own line!' [It’s] gotten so ridiculous." - Emma Watson in August 2009

Well, she kind of has stayed true to her words.  Emma Watson has collaborated wth the People Tree Foundation to create an ethical clothing line. All the profits fom the line will go to  promoting fair trade practices. Emma acts as creative adviser for the line. It includes 26 styles for women and 15 for men and launch in February 2009.
