A few weeks ago i was reading about politicians wanting to ban photo shop in the UK and I was thinking that was way too extreme a measure to take. You wouldn't ban special effects from movies because they give people unrealistic expectations. Should we ban Harry Potter movies because broomsticks don't really fly?
However, after seeing the images from the new Ralph Lauren campaign, featuring Countess Filippa Hamilton ( yes the girl from the Ralph Lauren Blue ads is a Swedish Noble) I think that whoever photo shopped those photos should be banned from photoshopping… FOREVER!!!! The photos look unrealistic and scary.
Apparently, the plot has thickened even more since those photos came out, now Filippa alledgedly has been fired from Ralph Lauren for being overweight. Filippa is a UK size 8, she is 5 foot 10 and weighs 120 pounds which would give her a Body Max index of 17.2 ( anything under 18.5 is considered underweight). How can a girl who is underweight be fired for being too big? I miss the models of the 80's who all looked healthy and beautiful. I really think the obsession with stick thin bodies needs to come to an end.
What's your opinion?
