Why is Georgia May Jagger a nominee for the British Fashion Awards 2009?

British fashion awars georgia rosie daisy
The nominees for the British Fashion Awards have been announced and  I am dumbfounded by the  nominees for best model of the year. Daisy Lowe, Georgia May Jagger  and Rosie Huntington Whiteley have been nominated for the  model of the year award. Now I understand why Rosie has been nominated for model of the year. She has been in campaigns for Agent Provocateur, Dolce and Gabanna and she is the UK's first Victoria Secret Angel. Now whats totally got me up in arms is why Georgia May Jagger and Daisy Lowe are nominated. I don't even really class them as models, they are more-so socialites.

Lily allen for I-D I don't think Georgia May  Jagger  has been one of the biggest models this year. Infact I don't even consider her a true model. She  hasn't even done that much modelling. She had a jeans campaign and the cover of Vogue. If that  qualifies you for model of the year then maybe  the British Fashion Council should have nominated, Lily Allen for "Best Model". She  has done multiple fashion covers ( Elle, Nylon, I-D, GQ) this year and she has had a Chanel campaign. I think the awards are losing a bit of credibility by including Georgia Jagger on their list.

The rest of the nominees are listed below

Best Model – Daisy Lowe, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Georgia-May Jagger.
Emerging Talent Award for Ready-to-Wear – Peter Pilotto, Meadham Kirchhoff, Mark Fast.
Emerging Talent Award for Accessories - Holly Fulton, Camilla Stovgaard, Jessica McCormack, Maria Francesca Pepe.
Designer Brand award – Burberry, Mulberry and Pringle of Scotland.
Menswear Designer - Graeme Fidler for Aquascutum, Kim Jones for Dunhill, Todd Lynn.
BFC British Collection of the Year - Christopher Kane, Erdem, Jonathan Saunders.
Accessory Designer – Emma Hill for Mulberry, Katie Hillier, Nicholas Kirkwood.

The winner of the awards will be announced on the 9th of December.

Cheryl Cole wears Sass & Bide in “3 Words” music video.

28 November 2009 No Comments

Cheryl Cole Sass & BideWhen I saw "fight for this love",  Cheryl Cole's first music  video I  was surprised she didn't go the Beyonce/ Lady Gaga/Kylie route and wear  a sprarkly/sexy leotard with no pants. Well, Cheryl has finally jumped on the "no pants" pop-star trend. In her music video for "3 words" she is wearing a Sass & Bide tights and  jumpsuit.

Both pieces were in the Sass & Bide Spring 2010 show. If you take the leggings on the left with the top from the right , you have got  Cheryl Cole's 3 words outfit.

In the video she also dons a platinum blonde wig  and looks totally Gaga.

Lily Cole gets the new year started for Elle Canada

Lily Cole for ELLE CanadaWhat better way to kick off the new  year than by starting it with a British Supermodel on the cover of a major fashion mag. Elle Canada has done just that  by  putting, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus star, Lily Cole on the cover of the January Issue. The cover was photographed by Rankin and I'm loving the monochrome look.

Victoria’s Secret 2009 Fashion Show

20 November 2009 1 Comment

The Victoria Secret fashion show took place last night and Heidi Klum made women around the world completely jealous of her by being able to walk in lingerie just 5 weeks after giving birth to her 4th child. How does she do it? A few years back she walked the VS show while 5 months pregnant. The show featured a musical performance by the Black Eyed Peas and music by Leona Lewis and the Kings of Leon.

British model Rosie Huntington Whiteley made her third appearance for Victoria Secret and her first appearance as a Victoria Secret Angel. I lov the video above when Rosie says, "thats all i ever seem to work in my lingerie…the last time I did a shoot with clothes I cant remember". It's completely true because she has recently done campaigns for D&G underwear and for Agent Provocateur.

I-D Magazine: Winter 2009 – “Super Nature” featuring Eva, Helena and Claudia by Kayt Jones.

19 November 2009 No Comments

I-d Magazine Super Nature

i-D Magazine  really knows how to do a sexy cover. The most recent cover of i-D magazine features Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer wearing  nothing but thigh high boots. The cover was photographed by Kayt Jones. It's a tribute to three modelling Icons.

Before I saw the name of the photographer I knew it had to be Kayt Jones. The  cover  has the provocative sensuality that Kayt is famous for in her photos. She also recently shot Colombian singer, Shakira for this month's i-D magazine. Coincidentally in that shoot Shakira was also wearing thigh high boots.

Beyonce & Lady Gaga video Phone

17 November 2009 No Comments

Beyonce and Lady Gaga have teamed up to remix, Beyonce’s Video Phone. It’s like a musical collison of two of the biggest fashion Diva’s on the planet. The video debuted on MTV today and was shot by director Hype Williams. Maybe I just have really high excpectations but if I am being honest I am a bit dissapointed with the video I was hoping to see Fashion Gaga and Style Diva Beyonce, wage fashion war against each other.
