Alexander McQueen's McQ Fall 2010 lookbook is very reminiscent of the early 90's. It's got a grunge vibe with patched denim, perfectly shapeless silhouettes, oversized plaid shirts and layered sweaters.  In particular, it reminds me of Claire Dane's character, Angela Chase from  iconic 90's teen drama, My So Called Life. Anna Wintour, editor of the American Vogue, recently auctioned  off a week at Vogue ( yes there are people willing to pay to work at Vogue) for a whopping £28,000 ($42,500). The proceeds from the auction  will benefit the RFK Center. The week will be specially tailored to the individual interests and skill set of the auction winner. The winner will also get to attend a fashion show during New York Fashion Week. DO you think a week of working at Vogue  is worth £28,000?.. because there's someone out there who does. Apparently just being near Anna Wintour will make you chic so maybe that was the buyers plan, to get some chic-ness by association.

In the 80's models would get all the magazine covers now most fashion mags put actresses on their covers. Well now models not only have to compete with actresses and singers they also have to compete with fashion editors for covers.

Vogue editor, Anna Wintour has been named the first cover girl for Industrie Magazine. The magazine is about the culture of fashion and who better to feature on the cover than the Pope of fashion, Anna Wintour.

Industrie will be on newsstands from May 10th and will feature 196 pages of photography, from contributors that include Solve Sundsbo and  Camilla Akrans. As you know we love Anna  not only because shes the leader of the fashion world but also because shes British.

Nowadays almost  every celebrity has a clothing line and if you don’t have a clothing line then you you pretty much aren’t a celebrity. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that singer, Pixie Lott would launch a new clothing line. She has teamed up with Lipsy to create two ranges, Pixie Party and Pixie Festival.

The Pixie Party line is made up of party frocks and sexy body-con dresses while Pixie Festival is a bohemian style collection that includes denim, vests and maxi-dresses.

 If there is one thing that Matthew Williamson is known for its bright colours, if there are  two things  then its definitely collaborations.  In the past year he has collaborated with H&M and Debenhams, now the designer will collaborating with luxury Vodka brand, Belvedere. Matthew Willamson has created a  limited edition kaftan inspired by its Belvedere's , new pink grapefruit flavour. DJ, Leigh Lezark is the model for the Belvedere Pink Grapefruit by Matthew Williamson kaftan campaign.

The Kaftan's will retail for  $1,540 (or about £1000) at Matthew Williamson boutiques in London and New York on May 13.

Agyness Deyn’s little sister Emily Deyn is making her own mark on fashion.

On April 30th, Emily will be releasing a line of T-shirts and tank tops at Uniqlo. The shirts feature Polaroid pictures shot by Agyness and Emily  of their favorite things in New York City things.

Its quite the natural progression first, Agyness models for Uniqlo and now her baby sister is designing for them.

If you have never seen Max Rogers before then you must have been living under a rock for the past year. He has done campaigns for Lee Cooper, Agent Provocateur and D&G, the latter of which was plastered on every billboard and bus.  He has been photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth, Steven Meisel, Solve Sundsbo, Mario Testino and drawn by me (yes I couldnt resist throwing that one in there).  To top that it off  he was on the cover of Italian Vogue's September 2009 issue. Which is a huge feat for any model. In short, he's had a spectacular year and we got to ask him about it.

Later today, we will be posting our interview with Max  Rogers  @Storm Model Management. From now on with each model interview we do . I will be doing a portrait of the model.  So straight my sketchbook to your computer screen. Here is Max Rogers. The Interview will follow shortly.

Below is a comparison of my portrait of Max Rogers and the original  photo that it was drawn from. Let me now what you think. You should recognize Max from his Dolce & Gabanna ads that were plastered across every bus in London or  from his Italian Vogue cover.

Iconic British brand,  Burberry has revealed  that they will be branching out and releasing a  makeup collection. The line is called Burberry Beauty and the campaign will be photographed by Mario Testino  and fronted by Lily Donaldson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and newcomer Nina Porter from select models.

Christopher Bailey  told WWD, “When we were doing make-up, I felt like we weren’t able to get the right attitude. It was either caked-on make-up or then just the wrong colours, the wrong tones, the wrong spirit for make-up. I wanted it to be this kind of effortless elegance.”

The collection contains 96-pieces and draws inspiration from Burberry the trench coat and  “Like the trench-coat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time,” Christopher Bailey said.

Kylie  Minogue is on the cover of Elle UK May 2010 and she has been blurred beyond  recognition. If you squint really hard you can almost make her out.  Now I love Kylie, ( I remember being madly in love with her when I was 4 and she was singing  "I should be so Lucky") but what is going on with this cover. Why is it so blurry? It almost eliminates the point of having Kylie on the cover. The cover was shot by David Sliijper. Kylie's new album Aphrodite, comes out in June.

Pop star turned global fashion icon, Victoria Beckham  has landed herself yet another Vogue cover. This time she covers the  denim issue for the  German edition of Vogue. The editorial was shot by Alexi Lubomirski.
Victoria Beckham  has previously appeared on the cover of British Vogue, Vogue India and Vogue Russia.

The collection is inspired by the English countryside and  has a very 1950′s vibe.  The collection includes accessories, T-shirts, cardigans, day-dresses and party-wear, with prices starting from  as low as £14.

Everyone loves a good ol’ coffee table book full of pictures. The question is “How much would you pay  for one”…How about 400 pounds? Well that question will be answered soon as Kate Moss and Mario Testino are collaborating on a limited edition photographic book. The  128 page book is titled  ‘Kate Moss by Mario Testino’  and will retail at about £400 . The book will  released by Tachen this Summer and only 1,500  signed copies will be printed.

 
Sticking on the topic of Coffee Table Books, Photographer Dean Stockings has released a book called Sofa So Naked. Its a series of a nudes shot from a cross-section of the whole community – male, female, young and old (the youngest model is a few weeks and the oldest is 87 years old).  Each model appears naked on their own sofa, in their own home, with just one prop of their choice. The books sells  for £34.95 and is available by clicking here . So if £400 pounds is slightly outside of your price range then this book might just be perfect for you.

Mark Ronson is famous for his musical collaborations with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Sean Paul and the Zutons from tomorrow his latest collaboration with Gucci will be available in London.

The GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY store open tomorrow at 37 Earlham Street, WC2 Seven Dials, Covent Garden. Thats right next door to one of my favourite night spot, Detroit and just down the road from the Musical Chicago.

It seems Terry Richardson’s recent scandal about him allegedly exploiting young models hasn’t dented his career at all. He’s still shooting major celebrities, campaigns and editorials. His latest nude model is JImmy Choo president, Tamara Mellon. He shot a nude spread of Tamara for Interview Magazine. In the spread Tamara is covered  only by a kitten. While we do think Tamara has an amazing body we hope that the Kitten had its claws trimmed because Nudity + claws = PAIN!

In the issue Tamara Mellon was also interviewed by Camilla Johnson-Hill .

JOHNSON-HILL: have to ask you: How was it being shot naked by Terry Richardson?

MELLON: I’m very comfortable with Terry, so for me, it was very fun. To have a picture done by Terry Richardson—I mean, how amazing is that?

JOHNSON-HILL: Sweetheart, I’ve seen the photo of you. It’s incredible. You look totally notorious.

MELLON: Really?

JOHNSON-HILL: You look stunning. I couldn’t turn my eyes away—I think I’ve re-looked at it about five times.

MELLON: Oh, my god! I mean, it’s nude but it’s chic. But with that reaction, okay . . . I wonder what they’ll say at the next board meeting.

If there is one model that I think doesn’t get enough praise its Lily Donaldson. We always hear about Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Jourdan Dunn, Lily Cole and Agyness but Lily Donaldson is a bit underrated.  While the other models are famous outside of fashion circles Lily  is relatively unknown.  This month, she covers the  Korean Edition of  W Magazine wearing  a dress from Burberry Prosum Spring Summer 2010 looking absolutely stunning. I don’t usually like curly blonde hair but Im loving this look on Lily.

Angel Jackson started out as a range of handbags and for AW 2010 they will branching out and creating shoes as well. Which begs the question Could Angel Jackson  be the next Jimmy Choo? Only the future will tell  but theres definitely room for more than one British luxury shoes and accessories brand.
