here is the Barbie Fashion show from Lakme Fashion week. Don’t get me wrong but i expected more pink.

British Milliner, Piers Atkinson has jumped on the Barbie train. At New York Fashion Week there was a Barbie themed fashion show, Karl Lagerfeld shot a Barbie themed campaign and Gareth Pugh even designed a  limited edition Ken Doll. Piers Atkinson has created a range of Barbie, Kermit the Frog and Mickey Mouse inspired  hats. The collection is very eclectic and quirky .  Imagine wearing a hat with an unclothed Barbie and Ken  on your head or how about a Kermit the Frog Balaclava.

After  seeing the collection I have only one question. Do you think we will be seeing any of these hats on parade at Royal Ascot? I hopes so

Danielle Scutt, Roksanda Ilincic and Gareth Pugh are helping celebrate the British leg of Barbies 50th Birthday Celebrations . Above are  two Barbie Doll's designed by Danielle Scutt & Roksanda Ilinicic and a Ken Doll by Gareth Pugh. The limited edition dolls will be  sale at at Dover Street Market and can be bought for £179.99. Only 50 of each doll will be available.

 Karl Lagerfeld has chosen a fifty year old blonde and a young model for his latest photo shoot ( and I do not mean Madonna), Bombshell for his latest photoshoot. Karl shot Barbie along with male model baptiste Giabiconi. You may recognize Baptiste from the recent Chanel campaign he shot with  Jerry Hall.

French fashion retailer, Colette hired  designer/photographer, Karl Lagerfeld to shoot a special series of Barbie photos to be displayed in their upcoming Barbie 50th birthday celebration between March 9th and 28th

Karl also took some shots of Barbie with his statement Teddy Bear.

Designers at New York Fashion Week payed special homage to Barbie yesterday. The Global fashion Icon recently turned 50 and the designers at New York fashion Week  specially designed garments that were inspired by Barbie.
