How to get rid of Denim Stains on Leather bags.

Miu_miu_bag I was reading  the I am Fashion blog late last night. Barney's girl made a post about a great new Pink Miu Miu Leather bag she had gotten. However, she had rested the bag on her Jeans and the dye from the denim had transferred on to her Miu Miu bag. Now anyone who knows Miu Miu bags knows that these bags are far from cheap. Since walking around with a bag covered in blue stains isnt an option.

You have 3 choices if you are caught in a similar situation to Barney's girl:

How to Get rid of denim stains

  1. Buy a NEW bag
  2. Try to remove the stain yourself.
  3. Send the bag to a professional for cleaning.

Considering that most of us dont have hundreds of dollars to throw away on replacing a bag, Lets  go with option 2.

If you have denim dye transfer on a light colored leather bag try using  baby wipes that  DO NOT HAVE ALCOHOL in them. (Alcohol has a tendency to dry leather out so alcohol should be avoided).A few wipes  and the stain should be gone.  Ive also heard  non-acetate nail polish remover works for removing  denim stain.

To help prevent your bags from staining,  spray your new bags with a good leather protector. This will make them way less likely to stain and you will be able to keep your bags for a lot longer. Clarks Leather Protector is a good  one to try. However do a spot test first to make sure that it wont darken your bag.
