On friday night, David Gandy  did an interview with late night talk show host, Jonathan Ross. I was quite surprised to see him on there becuase you dont usually see male models doing talk shows. He came across as quite intelligent  and down to earth. He also revealed to Ross that for the first few years  of his career he got told that he was "too good looking to be a model". Yes , you read that correctly. Sounds almost contradictory, aren't models supposed to be goodlooking?

David Gandy also talked about his plans for after modelling and being known as the "white pants guy" after his Light Blue commercial.

If you read this blog regularly you will know that I wasnt very  happy with the model category at the British Fashion Awards. Ive always thought the category should be split in two and an award given for the best  fmeale model as well as the best male model. I got some help from the people  over at ModelHommes and came up with the following list of British Male models that were big in 2009. We've narrowed it down to 9 for you to chooose from. They are (from left to right), David Gandy, Jeremy Young, Danny Scwharz, Jamie Dornan, Josh Beech, Sam Way, Eddie Tucker, Ollie Edwards and Max Rogers.

David Gandy  and Scarlett Johansson are in the new  Dolce and Gabanna Cosmetics ads… and no Ladies David Gandy does not come free with the cosmetics!

Here are the newest ads for Massimo Dutti Autumn Winter 09/10. At first when i saw these ads I thought they were for Zara's collection.  I was almost right because the photos are from  Massimo Dutti which is also owned by the  Inditex group. In fact  when I travelled to Singapore a few years I actually mistook  Massimo Dutti for Zara's as I think both brands  have a similar aesthetic.

David Gandy is in the Autumn Winter campaign for the brand. He stars alongside  Edita Vilkeviciute. Chunky over-sized knits dominate the collection. The major trend for Autumn Winter 2009/10  is definitely chunky knitwear…the BIGGER the BETTER.

David Gandy must be the only male model that is a household name. After that infamous Dolce & Gabanna "Light Blue" ad  he was catapulted onto the radar of most British Women. He even placed 3rd on Forbe's List of the most successful male models. The British male supermodel is in the new FreeSoul Autumn Winter 2009-10 campaign alongside Cameron Russell.

British Model David Gandy  is part of the cast of Dolce & Gabanna's fall 2009 collection. He stars alongside Madonna's friend Jesus Luz, Eva Herzigova, Noah Mills, Adam Senn and Julienne Quevenne. The collection was shot  by Steven Klein in sanctuary Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn.

At Last weeks, British Fashion Awards there was a special award for Best British Model of the year.  This Year Jourdan Dunn took home the award. Now as we all know female models are the stars of the modelling Industry and very few male models ever get nominated for this award and none  has ever won. The only ones I can remember off the the top of my head are Danny Beauchamp and Will Chalker. This made me think – Should there be a category at the British Fashion Awards  for the best British male model? I made up a small list of British male models who would have been possible nominees if this award was ever made.

Sam Saffman – He is currently on the cover of GQ style and has also been on the cover of Tetu. He is also in the current ad campaign for Dolce & Gabanna Jewels.

David Gandy – David became a houehold  name in the UK after his Dolce & Gabanna "light Blue ad". He has also done several campaigns for Dolce & Gabanna as well other high profile labels such as CCS and Paul Kehl.

British Model David Gandy, has left the Italians for the neutral swiss. In other words the Dolce & Gabanna staple is now modeling for Swiss Label Peter Kehl. The Tag Line for the Brand is "What a man!"

Naomi’s Fashion for Relief charity show was definitley star-studded. Those who took to the catwalk included Cheryl Cole, David Gandy, Tyson Beckford, Paul Sculfor, Jamelia, Erin O’Connor, Katharine Jenkins, Daisy Lowe, Agyness Deyn and The Sugarbabes. Topnotch designers like Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel also supported the event by supplying the clothes for the show. Cilla Black closed the charity fashion show  wearing  A Yves Saint Laurent Top Hat.

Even the audience was filled with stars. Mischa Barton and the Prime Ministers wife, Sarah Brown were also patrons of the event.

Its nice to see Naomi in the press doing something really positive. The event was in aid of  "The White Ribbon Alliance". Sarah Brown was also photographed eyeing Tyson beckford (photos after the jump)
