Whenever black models are scantily dressed alongside white models the blogosphere goes wild with stories about the photos being racist. The latest editorial to stir up allegations of racism is titled "Start Me Up" and was shot by Matthias Vriens-McGrath for Numero Tokyo and stars VS supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, British model Rob Evans and TaeJahn Taylor. The shoot was styled by Masha Orlov and features designs  from Dior and Thakoon. The sensually charged editorial featured Alessandra with bleached hair wearing glamorous gowns while surrounded by two black male models wearing leather bikini cut undergarments. In one shot Alessandro has a chain around  Taejahn Taylor.

The risque and obviously was meant to shock and some bloggers and online commenters have already labelled the shoot as being racist. One commenter on Models.com wrote; "But, this oversexualization of black models in fashion, especially in editorials is really starting to annoy me. Out of the very little editorials featuring black models the majority of them have a emphasis on sex, or a ferine theme." and "I’m a little tired of seeing this perverse sexually objectified concept of blacks in fashion. It’s so one-dimensional, vulgar, and offensive. Don’t get me wrong, Rob and Tae look amazing just as David did in the Calvin Klein ad, but seriously…this song is played and tired. " However not everyone agreed that editorial was racist another user on Hurricane Vanessa wrote, "I’m sorry but am going to have to disagree with you. I don’t think its racist at all and its when we nit pick on every little irrelevant detail that problems arise. If it was two white males,you wouldn’t think its racism. So why think any differently now? This is high fashion. It's beautiful and I love this."

Premier male model turned singer, Baptiste Giabiconi has put a teaser for his new music video, Showtime on his website. The video was filmed in California and the song was produced by rapper 50 Cent. Now that teaser has been released it will only be short while before the full video is released. We can't wait.

I recently heard the Noisettes new single, “Ever Fallen In Love With Someone You Shouldn’t've ” which is a cover of the same song by the Buzzcocks and I was truly impressed.  What i didn’t now was that it was part of Dr Marten’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

To celebrate 50 years the brand has  teamed up with bands from today to  recreate some iconic British hits from the past 50 years of music.

They are even offering free downloads of the songs via the official 50 Years of Dr Martens site.

After watching the September Issue documentary I now have a slight obsession with all things Grace Coddington. In the documentary  Grace reveled that she had won a  modelling competition for Vogue in 1959.  Thanks to ModSixties the pictures of her two consecutive Vogue covers from 1962 have become available online. She covered th August 1962 and September 1962 images.

Not an easy feat to accomplish, infact I have no recollection ay other model having don* current  covers of the same magazine.

There is no doubt that  Kate Moss is the queen of Vogue. Three months doesn’t go by without her covering one of the international editions of Vogue. Next month is no different as  she stars on the cover of Vogue Paris, shot by Mario Sorrenti. 

Long before there was Lady Gaga there was  Kelis. Despite my love for Gaga, I have to admit Kelis is the original  trendsetter of the aughties (2000′s), queen of couture and emerging fashion. This summer, the hip hop mould breaker, is going to be the face of  River Island’s Graduate Fashion Week womenswear pieces.

River Island will sponsor Graduate Fashion Week for the sixth consecutive year and has decided that, Kelis who was model scouted at the age of 14 and making music by 17 is the perfect fit for the brand.

“People need help and encouragement when they’re starting out. That’s why I think what River Island is doing with fashion graduates is so great. I don’t want to look like everybody else, you know?” - Kelis

The Graduate Fashion Week womenswear pieces will be sold in 40 River Island stores across the UK and on www.river-island.com from the 24th of May. Each item has been created by past Graduate Fashion Week students who are currently employed at River Island and embody the energy, quirky  aesthetic and originality of the brand.

The most photographed woman on earth, Kate Moss has released the latest video of her collaboration with Topshop. For Spring Summer 2010 Kate Moss, is going for a very Boho Chic look as she frolics around in her new Topshop collection. The video was shot by photographer Nick Knight, who has shot Kate on numerous occasions.

Kate Moss for Topshop goes on sale tommorow,  May 20th 2010.

Karl Lagerfelds, Chanel Cruise collection runway show only took place last week and already he has shot the campaign for  his  Cruise Collection 2011 campaign. As per usual the campaign features Chanel mancandy, Baptiste Giabiconi and  British Model of the year award winner, Georgia Jagger. The images were shot by Karl Lagerfeld with a rolls royce acting as the  shoots backdrop. This is the second time that Baptiste has appeared alongside  one of the Jagger women in a photoshoot. In 2009 he appeared alongside  Georgia’s mother, Jerry Hall in a Chanel Accessories campaign.

Britain’s most famous red haired vixen is on the cover of ES Magazine. In the accompanying interview she talks about her life as model, mother and wife. She also discusses her upcoming album, The Ghost who Walks which comes out on May 25. The editorial was shot by photographer John Lindquist.

Every year Cosmo raises prostate cancer awareness with their Naked Centrefolds campaign. This year they've enlisted a host of celebs, singers and sports stars to strip off for the charity. included in the mag are Nigel Barker, Ben Foden, Jesse Metcalfe, Christian Jessen, Danny Young, Doug Reinhardt and Rhydian Roberts.

While I do think its  great that Cosmo is supporting the Everyman Charity i think they should have removed the "Hot or Not" buttons on the celebs photos. Apparently, 90% of you cosmo readers think Jesse Metcalfe is hot while only 26% think Louis Spence is hot.

Dazed & Confused seems to be going in a more musical direction. Last month,British band the XX were on the cover and next month experimental electro band, Crystal Castles are the cover-stars of Dazed & Confused  June 2010. The images were photographed  by Ari Marcopoulos at thier home in Toronto.

Fashion and football arent two things that usually go hand in hand but the folks at 10 Men magazine have taken the bull by the horns and decided to embrace the world of football. With the World Cup just aroud the corner 10 men has decided to embrace the world of football.  If you can’t beat them join them.

The nominees for the 2010 ANDAM prize have been revealed and two London based designers are on the list.

Mark Fast and Hakaan Tildirim are nominated alongside  Alexandre Vauthier; Francesco Scognamiglio; Bouchra Jarrar; and Calla Haynes. The winner of the award will walk away with a prize worth £185,000.

The judging panel includes French Vogue's Carine Roitfeld, Alber Elbaz, Hilary Alexander,Sarah Lerfel, Jefferson Hack, and Humberto Leon.

In the  past the award has been won by Brits, Gareth Pugh and Giles Deacon, both of whom now show their  collections during Paris Fashion Week.

i-D has released three covers of their Summer for Love! issue featuring Gisele Bundchen, Miranda Kerr and Jeneil  WIlliams. Miranda was shot By Willy Vaderperre, Gisele by Matt Jones and Jeneil Williams by Andrew Jackson.

Two months ago I was chatting with Daniel Saynt from Fashion Indie and I said that Laurence Cope ( Jamie Dornan 2.0) would probably win the Calvin Klein 9 countries 9 men competition and  I was right. I even made  made a blog entry called "Laurence Cope will probably win" and I predicted that Germany or Sweden would  be the next highest competitors. I was wrong about Sweden but i predicted England and Germany correctly. If fashion blogging doesn't work out I can always start a Psychic hotline.

When the competition ended last week Laurence had a whopping 29% of the vote, with Germany's Lenn Haberthaler receiving 22% of the vote while Nikos Douramanis from Greece had 16%.

As part of Lawrence's prize package  he has won a one-year modelling contract with Select Model Management and a luxury trip for two to South Africa. I'm gonna make another prediction that Laurence will be with Select models for a lot longer than a year. Well done Laurence!
