Rimmels Mascara ad is banned

georgia may jagger mascara rimmel ad banned

It was bound to happen sooner or later, a mascara ad has been banned for misleading customers. Georgia May Jagger's new 1-2-3 Looks Mascara from Rimmel claims to give you three different eyelash looks. However, the small print on the ad says that it was “shot with lash inserts”. Lash inserts are just another name for false lashes.

After receiving complaints about the ads, the Advertising Standards Authority has commanded Coty to stop using this ad and had the following to say-
"Because we considered that the use of different length lash inserts applied to the eyelash area was likely to distort the visual representation of the effect achievable from the use of the product alone, we concluded the images in the ad were misleading.”

The ads can still run in the US but both the print and tv spots were banned in the UK.

Chanel Baptiste Giabiconi Georgie Jagger

Karl Lagerfelds, Chanel Cruise collection runway show only took place last week and already he has shot the campaign for  his  Cruise Collection 2011 campaign. As per usual the campaign features Chanel mancandy, Baptiste Giabiconi and  British Model of the year award winner, Georgia Jagger. The images were shot by Karl Lagerfeld with a rolls royce acting as the  shoots backdrop. This is the second time that Baptiste has appeared alongside  one of the Jagger women in a photoshoot. In 2009 he appeared alongside  Georgia’s mother, Jerry Hall in a Chanel Accessories campaign.

Georgia May Jagger Versace Spring Summer 2010
Lara Stone 2.0
, Georgia May Jagger's ads for Versace Spring Summer 2010 have been released. The campaign was shot by Mario Testino. on the internets most popular fashion forum, TheFashionSpot opinions on the campaign are  mixed. one user described it as " Bright colors, nice pose, unusual angle of her body. It's a huge step up from the past seasons" while another said "Freaking love it for some reason. the colours are fantastic."  However, not all of the users were as positive. Salvatore said, "I hate to judge so early, but it looks kind of tacky."

As you already know when Georgia May Jagger won the British Fashion Award I was in major disagreement. georgia is a pretty girl, but model of the year is not accolade that I think  she deserves at the moment. I think my problem with Georgia May Jagger was aptly discussed by TigerRouge from TheFashionSpot.

"Yes, she's a beauty but she's yet to learn how to model like a pro, and in a way, that's only natural. The disadvantage of having a famous surname is that it allows you to step into campaigns before you've done your apprenticeship, where you learn how to model in editorials for foreign Marie Claire and Glamour before your big moment comes" – TigerRouge

British Fashion Awards - Press Room

When the nominees for the British Fashion awards were announced, I was surprised that Georgia May Jagger had been nominated but I am even more shocked that she has now been named model of the  year.  If I was Rosie Huntington Whiteley I'd be fuming, because this should so have been her award. Anyway I must stop as I am starting to sound like Kanye West at the AMA Awards.  Congrats to Georgia on the award I guess we can expect Lily Allen to be nominated next year. The full list of winners from the British fashion awards is below.
