House of Holland SS2011

21 September 2010 No Comments

Henry Holland's House of Holland line is synonymous with Fun. The designer ignores trends and creates collections that are youthful  and quirky. The collection consisted of 3 motifs that were used throughout the collection. Banana leaf print, metallic fabrics, gold lame' and  stars were present on almost all of the looks in the show. Sometimes they were used in combination and at other times they weren't. Pleating and fringing were also strongly used in Henry's collection.

To top off the show the front row guests included Nicola Roberts ( Henry Holland's new muse), Agyness Deyn and Pixie Geldof.

Henry holland roxyHenry Holland and collaboration are two things that go hand in hand. This time the House of Holland will be collaborating with Roxy to create ski wear.

When Roxy approached us about working with them on a small capsule collection I jumped at the idea as I loved the concept of designing a snow wardrobe based on functional and fashionable snow gear," Holland told Vogue. We think the line will be very popular with the ski bunnies this year.

When ever Henry Holland does a collaboration its either amazing or completely bizarre. His H by Henry Holland line for Debenhams was young and fresh while his  collaboration with wrigley's gum was kind of strange.

This time Henry has scored a major goal. He has collaborated with American denim brand, Levis and reinvented a pair of Levis. He has created an  8-piece men's and women's collection with gold buckles and black denim straps. Talk about  giving  classic a style update.

Debenhams might Collaborate with Matthew Williamson, Jasper Conran and Henry Holland to reinvent jogging bottoms

24 January 2010 No Comments

British Fashion Awards - Red Carpet Arrivals

Debenhams is giving  women’s jogging bottoms a style makeover. For the past 2 decades  jogging trousers have been associated with  antisocial chav culture but now Debenhams is seeking to change that stigma.

“The return of jogging bottoms as a fashion piece is great news. It’s undoubtedly the comfiest item of clothing in every woman’s wardrobe, and now it can be worn out to the shops, to a club or on a date! Our customers already seem to love this comfy style option, just like they did when leggings came back into fashion a couple of years back.” - Debenhams Design Director Karen Peacock

This sudden leap in popularity can be attributed to big names such as Michael Kors and Isabel Marant sending their models down the runways in the sport-luxe jogger look during recent fashion weeks.

With the trend set to be big, Debenhams is even thinking of asking top designers such as Matthew Williamson, Jasper Conran and Henry Holland to come up with a new version of the traditional jogger.

While the media is buzzing with rumours that Henry Holland might  appear on the next series of “I’m a “Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!” he’s been up to good work. The fashion designer/ Agyness Deyn’ favourite manpal  has been keeping himself busy designing T-shirts for charity.

Henry Holland has created an exclusive range of t-shirts to promote War Child’s first single ‘I Got Soul’. The re-recording of the Killer’s classic “All These Things That I’ve Done” is performed by Young Soul Rebels, a collaboration of young British  urban acts including N-Dubz, Ironik, Tinchy Stryder, Pixie Lott and Chipmunk.

The T-Shirts retail  for £10, and retail exclusively through Culture Label.

War Child’s first single aims to raise awareness of the plight of ex-child soldiers and other children who suffer the tragic effects of war. For more information, visit igotsoul.co.uk.

Henry Holland heavenly scents  Six Scents is releasing round two of their  designer scents. This year’s designers are Henry Holland, Phillip Lim, Richard Nicoll, Damir Doma, Henrik Vibskov and Toga. SIx scents paired each designer with a perfumer to create their unique scents.  British Designer Henry Holland was paired with Stephen Nielsen.

Henry wanted something cheeky; he imagined a big purple couch, made of velour, for all his friends to hang out on surrounded by puppies. When his perfumer, Stephen Nielsen thought about making it unisex, Henry said, “Just lots of sex.” -Fashionista

Henry Holland Autumn Winter 09/10 -London Fashion

Henry-holland-aw-09

Agyness Deyn's BFF, Henry Holland unveiled his new collection this week.  Agyness lent her support by headlinng the show. The collection was far removed from his recent T-Shirt collection. He made use of monochromatic colours and horizontal whte stripes. The choice of colourst kind of reminds me of a paint chart.

The collection has a very grown up feel to it and at first glance it isnt what you would typcally expect from Henry's House of Holland label. Its kind of fusion of luxury and quirky.
