What is a fashion icon? Who is a fashion icon? It’s a subjective idea, really, and has stirred up a great deal of argument and debate among critics and fashion historians.

In modern times we have Lady Gaga whose off-the-wall, controversial outfits have caused quite a frenzy in the fashion world. Is she a fashion icon? Some would say, “Yes!” while others would disagree. Her most outrageous outfit came just recently with the meat dress she wore at the Video Music Awards. We’ll give her credit for her creative ideas and the ability to grab entertainment headlines on a weekly basis - and perhaps she inspires people to take fashion risks, but is she indeed a true fashion icon?

"With Night Comes The Darkness" is an editorial from the latest issue of Vogue Hommes Japan. It was shot by acclaimed photographer Mariano Vivanco and if you have watched any of Lady Gaga's music videos (eg. Alejandro) then you should be able to tell that  this shoot was styled by none other than Nicola Formichetti ( Lady Gaga's personal stylist/BFF)

Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Lady Gaga  are on the  cover of the pre-fall issue of i-D magazine. It's been reported that the three were initially supposed to share a cover of the magazine but "Naomi and Kate refused to play second fiddle to Gaga" and the magazine decided to shoot appease the two supermodels and shoot 3 separate covers. All three women were shot by  Nick Knight.

SHOWSTUDIO recently posted some new photos of male model Jo Calderone. The images are from a Vogue Hommes shoot and were styled by Nicola Formichetti (Lady Gaga’s stylist) and photographed by showstudio founder, Nick Knight.

However, word on the blogosphere is that Jo Calderone is Lady Gaga. The first site to call out Jo as being Lady Gaga’s male alter ego was ONTD. Here is the proof that’s got us thinking Jo Calderone is Lady Gaga.

1. Jo is short for Lady Gaga’s real middle name, Stefani Joanna Germanotta

2. The images were styled by Lady Gaga’s stylist  Nicola Formichetti

3. Jo Calderone looks like Lady Gaga!!!

4. We have googled  Jo Calderone and can’t find any agency that the male model is represented by.

Lady Gaga for Topman and Lady Gaga for River Island

Lady Gaga is the biggest thing in music and fashion. She seems to be monopolizing on that fame as her Haus Of Gaga brand has popped up in Topman and in River Island. Yep, Lady Gaga is in both of the UK's largest high street chains at the same time. No word yet on whether either  shirts i an official range by Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti, has posted a rundown of all the fashion featured in Lady Gaga's Alejandro music video. Instead of having to scour around the net looking for the clothes from the video, Nicola has put them all in once place. and hes even revealed that Lady Gaga's  Gun Bra  was made by Samuel Menkes. There's also quite a bit of Alexander McQueen in the video. Some of our favourites from the video are after the jump.

After producing theatrical masterpieces for her music videos for Bad Romance and Telephone, Lady Gaga has released the music video for her third single, Alejandro. Alejandro follows the same formula. It starts out with a male model clad in fishnet stockings and stiletto heels While Gaga is dressed like an 18th Century high fashion Queen.
When i first saw the teaser video I was surprised that Lady Gaga was covered from head to toe. However halfway through video she is seen writhing around in bed with a male model while wearing flesh tone underwear and a whip. She also manages to single handedly offend loads of people around the world. wouldn't be surprised if this video gets banned in a few countries just for that dance move at 4:38. There's also a cameo from Brazilian male model, Evandro Soldati.

Later this week will be a rundown of the clothes Lady Gaga wore in the the Alejandro Music Video.

Lady Gaga is famous for her corsets, studded bras, leotards and short bodysuits but in her latest music video for her latest single ‘Alejandro’ she is wearing clothes. She even wears trousers. Only a teaser/ preview of the video has been released but in the preview she is wearing clothes that you could actually wear.  Only time will tell if there are other scenes where shes wearing her infamous skin tight bodysuits.

Lady Gaga's Live Chat with SHOWstudio took place today between 12:00 and 14:00. She was interviewed by Alexander Fury and was asked question posted by her fans as well as questions from members of the fashion industry including, Naomi Campbell,  Gareth Pugh, Daphne Guinness and Cathy Horyn.

Lady Gaga and Beyonce's music video mini-movie for Telephone  has finally been released, and it's a fashion masterpiece full of designer threads. Seriously, I have never seen a music video that was so complicated and that featured so many designer pieces. The video was styled by Dazed and Confused Creative Director, Nicola Formichetti. Below is a rundown of all of the clothes from the "Telephone" music video. It's a summary of "What Lady Gaga wore?" and "What Beyonce wore?".

Lady Gaga wears custom made Jean Charles De Castelbajac structured shoulder dress and sunglasses by Mercura .

Lady Gaga wears jacket with studs and spikes by Search and Destroy, sunglasses by Chanel.

 Lady Gaga wears oversized hat and dress by Thierry Mugler.

Lady Gaga wears custom made crime scene tape outfit by Brian Lichtenberg.

Beyonce wears yellow latex wonder cup pencil yellow dress and hat by Atsuko Kudo, shades by Jeremy Scott.

Beyonce wears jacket and shoes from Jean Charles De Castelbajac SS2010 collection and denim shorts by Franc Fernandez  & Oscar Olima.

Lady Gaga performed at the Brit awards tonight and sang a slowed down and subdued acoustic version of her single Telephone as a tribute to Alexander McQueen. She also sang dance in the Dark while a dancer wore the infamous 10 inch Armadillo heels that McQueen created for his Spring Summer 2010 collection.

Its no secret that we love Lady Gaga. The woman is a musical genious. She knows how to churn out great pop tracks. I found this cool  christmas parody on youtube. It's got  parodies of  all her hits like "Bad Snowmans", "Love Sleigh" and "Ho Ho Ho-kerface". Enjoy.

Beyonce and Lady Gaga have teamed up to remix, Beyonce’s Video Phone. It’s like a musical collison of two of the biggest fashion Diva’s on the planet. The video debuted on MTV today and was shot by director Hype Williams. Maybe I just have really high excpectations but if I am being honest I am a bit dissapointed with the video I was hoping to see Fashion Gaga and Style Diva Beyonce, wage fashion war against each other.

This is the second time i have posted about Dimitri Stavrou. I first saw the young designer work at the London College of Fashion MA  graduate show and he was one of the first designers we featured in our designers to die for segment. I was impressed by the way  he took  traditional menswear silhouettes in metallic fabrics and embellished them with fringing to create a futuristic look.  

Now I am even more thrilled because I received word that Dimitri Stavrou will be creating a womens line. There are no pictures yet but  if his men's line is any indication the collection will be fashion forward and Lady Gaga will be wearing it in the near future. Actually, even female celebs such as Rachel Weisz, have been spotted wearing some of the  designs from his menswear collection.

Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” music video is finally out and it’s full of high fashion. The video was directed by director Francis Lawrence who has created videos for Britney, The Black Eyed Peas, The Pussycat dolls and Shakira.

“There’s this one shot in the video where I get kidnapped by supermodels. I’m washing away my sins and they shove vodka down my throat to drug me up before they sell me off to the Russian mafia.” -Lady Gaga

The fashion is completely amazing look at her rocking the Alexander McQueen 2010 collection.

Annie Liebovitz has recreated a timeless fairytale in the pages of  American Vogue's pages. The editorial features British actors, Andrew Garfield and Lily Cole ,who recently starred in Terry Gillam's the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Pop princess, Lady Gaga  is cast as the the Wicked Witch in the editorial. Lady Gaga has only been  around for  just over a year  and already she is putting her stamp on the fashion industry. From her magazine covers, personal style and  editorials Lady Gaga is looking Fierce!
