Nico- D
Nico D is a London based label that I think is totally to die for. The label was started by Italian born, Nico Didonna after he graduated from the London College of Fashion. For Autumn Winter 2009/10 he presented a menswear and women's collection.
The Nico-D men's collection was inspired by geometric shapes and used a rich colour palette that includes chocolate, cinnamon, ash, brown and black. The collection had the classic feeling of Italian menswear but the asymmetric cuts give it a quintessentially British feel. The collection catered to the subtle and the extravagant, providing chunky knits, shearling coats and asymmetric cut coats contrasted with shiny sequined jackets. I particularly like the small details of the collection such as the open front suspenders.
The Nico-D women's collection differed from the men's in that it had a softer silhouette and utilizes fabrics such as satin, silk and crepe. The colour palette includes black, bright blue, pink and beige. Jumpsuits were a main element of the collection. As with the men's collection black sequins were used to create the allure of glamour.
