Here is a preview of River Island's Autumn Winter 2010 men's collection. I'm loving the over-sized knits and the military trend also makes a small cameo. Amazing!!! More shots of the River Island men AW 2010-2011 collection are after the jump.

Its no secret that River Island is one of my favourite high street stores. Although I love their summer collection I usually prefer their Autumn Winter collection. Here is a preview of their Autumn Winter 2010 collection that should start to appear in store in late August. This year they are mixing it up, with a dash of ethereal princess meets military edge. I can see this collection selling fast when it hits stores later this year.
Lady Gaga, River Island, Topman, Topshop, Topshop UK
Lady Gaga for Topman and Lady Gaga for River Island
Lady Gaga is the biggest thing in music and fashion. She seems to be monopolizing on that fame as her Haus Of Gaga brand has popped up in Topman and in River Island. Yep, Lady Gaga is in both of the UK’s largest high street chains at the same time. No word yet on whether either shirts i an official range by Lady Gaga.

Long before there was Lady Gaga there was Kelis. Despite my love for Gaga, I have to admit Kelis is the original trendsetter of the aughties (2000′s), queen of couture and emerging fashion. This summer, the hip hop mould breaker, is going to be the face of River Island’s Graduate Fashion Week womenswear pieces.
River Island will sponsor Graduate Fashion Week for the sixth consecutive year and has decided that, Kelis who was model scouted at the age of 14 and making music by 17 is the perfect fit for the brand.
“People need help and encouragement when they’re starting out. That’s why I think what River Island is doing with fashion graduates is so great. I don’t want to look like everybody else, you know?” - Kelis
The Graduate Fashion Week womenswear pieces will be sold in 40 River Island stores across the UK and on www.river-island.com from the 24th of May. Each item has been created by past Graduate Fashion Week students who are currently employed at River Island and embody the energy, quirky aesthetic and originality of the brand.

This is our second original shoot that we have shot exclusively for Beauty Confessional.net. This time we went for the military trend. The inspiration for the shoot was Cheryl Cole's Fight for this Love music video except we tried to bring a darker more masculine edge to the shoot and thus RENEGADE was born. The shoot features pieces from ASOS, Topshop, RIver Island as well as some authentic military pieces. We also drew inspiration from Joe over at 00o00 blog as he is very into rocking the military trend.

River Island's PR Manager, Arieta Mujay and me
With all the snow we have had lately it is hard to think that anything resembling "summer" might be on its way soon but with the days getting longer and River Island bringing in their new summer wear… it is time to start thinking about warmer days and what we are going to be wearing in the sun!
Here are a few shots from their recent salon show we were invited to. Special thanks to Arieta Mujay and Dennis Lye for the pictures!
River Island has sponsored Graduate Fashion Week for the past 6 years. And even though you will have to wait until June 6th to 10th for Graduate Fashion Week 2010 . River Island really want to keep the message of “Nurturing young fashion and design talent” in the UK going throughout the year.
Thats where River Island's Design Forum comes in. Design Forum is a River Island initiative where River Island commissions MA Fashion students to design a collection to be sold in River Island stores under the design forum banner.
The 1st collection launches in stores at the end of February.
The always fashionable, Arieta Mujay from River Island sent me over some preview images from the collection designed by Astrid Anderson, who is an MA student at the Royal College of Art. I'm especially loving the color combinaton of green and gold and the tassles give the collection a completely unique spin.

I swear that this lookbook doesnt look its from a high street brand. River Island has outdone themselves…again…and yes I do have an unhealthy obsession with River Island.

Yesterday I showed you the River Island Menswear Spring Summer 2010 collection. Today its the ladies turn. Here are the latest pictures from the River island, Spring Summer 2010 womens collection. Overall the collection has a boho chic vibe. The materials in the collection are also very diverse in textures and pattern. I think there is something for every girl in this collection.

I always get an excited tingly feeling when I see new clothes from River Island. River Island is my not so secret obsession. These are the first images from the River Island Spring Summer 2010 look book and once again I am loving what im seeing. the military trend that dominated 2009 isn't present in this collection. instead it is replaced by an almost preppy throwback to the late 1960's. I can't wait for this to hit stores.
Seersucker check blazer, Malbec shirt, Polka bowtie, Seersucker shorts, Zorza white brogues.
River Island is probably my favourite high street store. Infact the majority of my wardrobe is from RIver Island. River Island has teamed up with Pixie Lott, Alesha Dixon, Kelly Rowland and Kid British to design T-Shirts that will be sold in aid of youth charity, The Prince’s Trust. They have even enlisted Alesha Dixon and Pixie Lott to model the new collection. I'm especially loving the assymetrical dress that Alesha is rocking in the shot below.

When I went to the River Island Press day I asked them to define the River Island man. They told me that River Island caters to various men and that they try to cater to the personal style of all men so they couldn't define the ir customers as conforming to a specific style aesthetic. If I had to describe a River Island man in one word I would say 'dapper'. Looking at this lookbook its easy to forget that River Island is a high street store. Definitely my favourite High street menswear collection for Autumn Winter 2009.

Last month I posted images from the River Island Autumn Winter 2009 lookbook. River Island is bang on trend this season. From the faux fur to the fringing, River Island has ticked all of the right boxes . The outfit above even reminds me of Balmain. Overall its definitely a thumbs up for River Island

I have always been a bit biased towards River Island. After all , half of my wardrobe is from their stores. This year we attended the River Island menswear Press Day but I missed the womenswear day. I did however get to see the womenswear lookbook. and it was quite impressive, Lots of fringing and muted sequins. Lots of pieces have padded shoulders that are reminiscent of Lynda Carter and Joan Collins on 80's TV show, Dynasty. When I first saw the lookbook, I thought that this collection doesn't even look like a high a street brand, It looks very high end.
My only criticism of the collection is that I can't wait for it to come out in August.

Knitwear and accessories were the main elements of River Island's menswear Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. The collection had something for all tastes and styles. Some pieces had a Gothic vibe with influences of Japanese Punk Rock style while others pieces were more subtle and classic. The collection included Aran sweaters, cardigans, denim jackets, knitted blazers and graphic tees. Im a big fan of all of the graphic tee's and definitely will be picking them up when the collection hit stores.
The accessories were my favourite part. From the knitted ties and checkered scarfs to the over-sized manbags and totes, the accessories were great . In particular there was a Britannia leather bag with a Union Jack design that really caught my eye. Other pieces like the Trilby hats also had a strong British influence. Check out the pics below for a sneak peek at the rest of River Island's collection.
Make sure to check back soon as I will posts some looks from River Island's A/W 09 lookbook.
