Tattoo artist, photographer, author, and reality TV star are all titles Kat Von D can boast on her CV, but after several makeup and fragrance collaborations with Sephora, Kat is moving from beauty to fashion and adding another title to the list; Fashion designer.

Yesterday Kat posted a sneak-peak of her eponymous upcoming Fall collection. Predictably, the collection is inspired by Kat's personal style with elements of punk and rockabilly fashion, but the pieces are still wearable and sophisticated, and not cheap looking. From these looks we can tell that the collection consists mostly of separates, including a military-inspired coat, embellished pencil skirt, cut-out and sheer-panel leggings, zip jackets and blazers and some casual tops.

Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen for Galliano: The Video

26 December 2010 No Comments

When John Galliano announced that the face of his new perfume would be everyone's favorite child-star-turned-angry-outspoken-teenager Taylor Momsen, the fashion community cringed a little bit. The general reaction was that the raccoon-eyed seventeen year old, best known as Little J on Gossip Girl and frontwoman of rock band The Pretty Reckless, was an unlikely choice for a couture brand. Momsen's name usually makes headlines due to her penchant for stripper shoes, quotable opinions on masturbation, trash-talking of other celebrities or her landing on the worst dressed list. But the ads turned out quite good, as did the video. Just like her music, I don't want to like it, but I do.

Posh at New York Fashion week

Everyone's favorite WAG, ex-Spice Girl and British Fashion Awards nominee Victoria Beckham just unveiled her Spring 2011 collection at New York Fashion Week. Although the collection featured many of Posh's signature streamline, super-flattering tailored looks, there were also flowy draped pieces in purples and nudes for a lighter Spring style. With pops of canary yellow, asymetrical necklines and a distinct lack of accessories, overall the feel was minimal, futuristic, and very feminine. The makeup was reminiscent of Miu Miu AW10, especially on Lindsey Wixon who did both the Miu Miu campaign and walked in Victoria's show; Pastel purple eyeshadow all the way up to the brows, nude lips and slicked hair. Posh also kept her promise not to use "size-0" models in her show, and Kristy Kaurova and Amanda Laine were a few of the models to share the catwalk with Lindsey. Come Spring, you can expect to be seeing a lot of these pieces worn by her growing celebrity clientele. Overall a strong collection, but a collection consisting almost entirely of dresses...one wonders if Victoria Beckham will branch out into seperates in her next.  By Emma Freed
