Speedo, has unveiled its stunning fashion collaboration with award winning ethical fashion designers From Somewhere.
Produced using surplus stocks of its Speedo LZR Racer suit, the range features retro 50s styling with a playful modern twist, combining practical swimwear with high-end fashion trends to create a look that’s equally at home on the beach or at a party.
Orsola de Castro, the co-owner of From Somewhere, said “After unveiling the first of our Speedo LZR Racer collaborations at London Fashion Week in September 2010, we have had an enormous amount of fun in designing and producing these latest pieces, and we feel that we’ve learned a lot about how far we can go, building our confidence, introducing lots of colour and creating designs we’re extremely proud of.
“The range comprises a wide variety of products, taking in eveningwear made from over 60 swimsuits, to the super wearable ‘Swimdress’, a new concept in swimwear as daywear, and we’re sure fashion followers will be delighted with the results.”
Launching in Selfridges stores this week, the UK release of the collection coincides with Climate Week. In addition to its release in Selfridges stores in the UK and online exclusively at yoox.com, the ‘From Somewhere with Speedo’ collection will also be available at Hallelujah in Brussels, Belgium, and in Tokyo’s Beams outlet.

London News: Sources claim that Kate Middleton will be wearing a wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen. According reports representatives at Alexander McQueen have denied the claims. However, it is well known that the royal family are pretty "hush hush" about these types of things... Would it not be great to see Kate in McQueen design complete with 10-inch Armadillo shoes lol... sorry i could not resist.
Elite Models London, Uncategorized
If you follow this blog you probably have been wondering where I have been lately!
This year I missed most of the LFW shows because I decided to spend some time interning at Elite Model Management. Prior to going there I didnt know what to expect. I had preconceived notions of Devil meets Prada with a twist of Ugly Betty. However it could not have been further from the truth. It was an amazing experience and everyone there was really warm and welcoming. It was like a big family (i.e. a really, really attractive family... lol).
I spent some time there in January and then returned there this past weekend for London Fashion Week.
Every day there was different; one day I could be running across London to get measurements from a model for Pam Hogg's show or dashing to get a portfolio from a fashion photographer. While there l got to meet supermodel Alana Zimmer when she popped into the office during fashion week (which was pretty cool).
In the picture (left) here I am with my new friend Morgan also a model at Elite. You can see even when she is not working she has her poses locked down. ( In my defense there was another camera going off! That is why I am not looking at the camera lol)
Overall a brilliant experience. Special thanks to everyone in the team especially Charlie and Fred!

This is the latest editorial from fashion photographer, Diego Diaz Marin. The shoot is "Axarquic Lady" and features Diego's muse, Fabiola Gomez. Diego says the photos reflect his hometown, the feminity, culture and eccentricity"

Tattoo artist, photographer, author, and reality TV star are all titles Kat Von D can boast on her CV, but after several makeup and fragrance collaborations with Sephora, Kat is moving from beauty to fashion and adding another title to the list; Fashion designer.
Yesterday Kat posted a sneak-peak of her eponymous upcoming Fall collection. Predictably, the collection is inspired by Kat's personal style with elements of punk and rockabilly fashion, but the pieces are still wearable and sophisticated, and not cheap looking. From these looks we can tell that the collection consists mostly of separates, including a military-inspired coat, embellished pencil skirt, cut-out and sheer-panel leggings, zip jackets and blazers and some casual tops.

Would you wear the pieces? The full preview here.

The editorial was shot by Christian Trampenau and was titled Pretty Deadly, makeup was by Lucy Gibson and the models are Angie from Confidence Models and Paula. Jewellery was by Mikey London at Topshop and Butler And Wilson. Retouching by Joe McCormick. The shoot was styled by Che (me).

Ever since the Royal Engagament was announced Kate Middleton mania is now in full swing. WWD invited designers to sketch their interpretation of Kate Middleton's wedding dress. Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix, Valentino and Gucci. However the front runner for designing the gown is still Bruce Oldfield. Although all of the world's top design our queuing up to design the gown, it seem Kate may choose an unknown designer.
Royal correspondent, Yvonne Yorke told the Huffington Post: "When the name is officially announced, it will come as a surprise to many, and catapult the designer to worldwide fame. For clues on the identity, I suggest looking at those who have made dresses for Catherine, her sister Pippa, and her mother Carole."

Charlie Gilmour Model, Uncategorized
Last week, male model, Charlie Gilmour was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage of the Union flag on the Cenotaph in London on December 9.
He subsequently, apologised and said that his “moment of idiocy has distracted so much from the message” of the student fees protest.
Charlie is the son of Pink Floyd frontman David Gilmour and when he isn't studying at Cambridge or rioting on the streets of London he is on the books of Select Models. I guess now he can add being the face of protest to his resume.

Whenever black models are scantily dressed alongside white models the blogosphere goes wild with stories about the photos being racist. The latest editorial to stir up allegations of racism is titled "Start Me Up" and was shot by Matthias Vriens-McGrath for Numero Tokyo and stars VS supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, British model Rob Evans and TaeJahn Taylor. The shoot was styled by Masha Orlov and features designs from Dior and Thakoon. The sensually charged editorial featured Alessandra with bleached hair wearing glamorous gowns while surrounded by two black male models wearing leather bikini cut undergarments. In one shot Alessandro has a chain around Taejahn Taylor.
The risque and obviously was meant to shock and some bloggers and online commenters have already labelled the shoot as being racist. One commenter on Models.com wrote; "But, this oversexualization of black models in fashion, especially in editorials is really starting to annoy me. Out of the very little editorials featuring black models the majority of them have a emphasis on sex, or a ferine theme." and "I’m a little tired of seeing this perverse sexually objectified concept of blacks in fashion. It’s so one-dimensional, vulgar, and offensive. Don’t get me wrong, Rob and Tae look amazing just as David did in the Calvin Klein ad, but seriously…this song is played and tired. " However not everyone agreed that editorial was racist another user on Hurricane Vanessa wrote, "I’m sorry but am going to have to disagree with you. I don’t think its racist at all and its when we nit pick on every little irrelevant detail that problems arise. If it was two white males, you wouldn’t think its racism. So why think any differently now? This is high fashion. It's beautiful and I love this."

This week at the British Fashion Awards, photographer Nick Knight paid tribute to the late, Alexander Lee McQueen. The presentation was entitled “To Lee, With Love, Nick” and featured black models wearing Alexander's designs. The video was set to song that specially penned by Bjork for the occasion. The video was styled by Edward Enninful.
In response to the video Nick Knight said “it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the museum takes them away,”
